God's Butterfly ~ Story of Hope
A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through a little hole. Then suddenly, the butterfly seemed to stop making progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further. So the man decided to help the butterfly. He took a pair of scissors and snipped off the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly emerged easily, but its body was swollen and its wings small-shriveled. It was never able to fly. -Anonymous
What the man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand was that the restricting cocoon and its struggle was a process. A holy process that required the butterfly to get struggle through the tiny opening was God's way of forcing fluid from the body into its wings. The struggle would be its reward by the ability to fly!
Struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. . .
If God allowed us saved us from all our struggles, without obstacles and pain ---it would cripple us like it crippled the butterfly.
