Personal~
The reason I felt God's call to counseling is on this exact premise of the story--God's Butterfly (see previous page). I had many struggles in my life, but with the help of my mentors, friends, counselors, and most of all Jesus, I saw what God had planned eventually.
I have specialized in learning and studying the vast different forms of abuse; such as sexual molestation, physical and mental traumas, and verbal abuse. I am a licensed, professional counselor in the State of Ohio with a Master's in Clinical Pastoral Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary. I am also a member of the American Association of Christian Counseling and a lifelong member of the Psy Chi Honor Society.
Faith is a constant growing process, but I always have believed in the Our Father and Jesus Christ, the healer of our broken hearts and spirits. The struggles in my life have only strenghtened my faith and reminded me that the only place to look for God is up.
I use not only various principles of psychology and counseling theory, but also rely on Jesus and the Word of God as the healer of our souls. God does not minimize our sin, BUT he does not CONDEMN us either. Jesus paid the price we could not endure and "by His wounds we have been healed."
It is amazing gift to walk with someone through his or her pain; it makes your pain worth the price when someone else learns to fly in spite of theirs.
